    3. Chuck -- I too am getting mime but worse, attachments in my Prodigy mailbox. I have 5 attachments in my mailbox right now and they will soon float away into cyberspace as Prodigy keeps mail only for specified periods. I wrote earlier that I don't do attachments for space and other reasons and received letters from two subscribers who offered help but my problem is still that Email attachments will only download on my harddrive -- I have to elect to not open them. I guess I have missed issues 173 - 180 for the most part. I can't look right at this moment. Often mime comes through so I can read it other people have sent me stuff that looked like encryption. Why would some of the Digests be coming to my address as attachments? By the way, I will have to change this address in about 30 days when I get another on line server. I am still using a couple features with this one but looking for other avenues. Marilyn Newman Carpenter descendant from William of Rehoboth.

    3. Hi, That site is at http://www.wf.net/~irolee/forms.htm After finding the form you want, you can email the National Archives and request up to 10 of the form you want. In the email, you MUST put the word FORM in the subject line. Then you need to put your name, street address, city and state and zip code. and the form number you need and quantity. The email address for the National Archives is: inquire@arch2.nara.gov This may save a bit of time if you know which form you want. Form # 80 Military Service and Pension Records prior to WW1 Form #81 Passanger Arrivals Form #82 Copies of Census Records Form #83 Eastern Cherokee Applications Form #180 Militar REcords WW1 and later Hope this helps. 2. The Carpenters
    3. Mike, I haven't had a chance to read all the arguments yet, but knew at a glance that the arguments were on my Carpenter list! One thing we all seem to have in common is a strong conviction that we are right, regardless of the issue or the facts! One of my Carpenter relatives once laughed at my Scandinavian relatives for their conviction that they are individually always right, and I told him that, coming from a Carpenter, that was strong praise, indeed!! :--) George --- George R. There shouldn't be any attachments from the list. No genealogy list allows attachments. You can paste information into the body of the message to send to the list or of course send attachments to individuals who agree to recieve them privatly. The reason for this is some servers and mail programs don't handle them well and they just create problems. Thanks, Chuck List owner. 3. Our Carpenter family line also goes back to Ohio with the earliest known Carpenter being Robert John Carpenter b. 1811 in Trumbull County Ohio. My husbands line goes like this; Richard Leroy Carpenter Jr. Richard Leroy Carpenter Sr. Floyd Leroy Carpenter Charles Lester Carpenter b. 1887 OH David Carpenter b. 1848 OH Robert John Carpenter b. 1811 OH If you would like more info let me know as we can find little else about the origins of Robert John Carpenter. We do have a lot of descendant info as well as pictures to share.
