THANK YOU, BARB FRANK CARNEY 03 Aug 1892 Jan 1969 19083 (Havertown, Delaware, PA) ** I did find that one, but not sure if it is my uncle or not. I wanted to get a copy of his obit so I could make sure. ************************************************* Barb, Hello again, Barb there are many helpful people on these lists but you need to help us too. We all realize why you would want to find an Obit. However, you don't give enough information in your inquiries & responses. You said "I did find that one" That one WHAT? Which one? The death certificate, the SS application or the SS death index noting where & to whom the death benefit was paid. People will more likely assist you if you give them facts such as what you do know, what steps you have taken. Don't just say I have checked newspapers, obit, etc. Tell the list what Newspapers you have looked in, all the specific steps you have taken. Do you have other family located in the area where this Frank died? Or is this just a person who's age and name fits? Do you know FRANK is a nickname for FRANCIS? When you checked for Frank Carney did you also check for Francis Carney? These are the sorts of information that would help other people to assist you. I have a similar problem as I'm sure most of us do, but my reasons for researching are more pressing. It's a medical emergency. Unfortunately this hobby is research. And you need to do your research you can't expect the list to do your work. I was sure my relatives would have had an Obit but none can be found. Maybe the newspaper they advertised in are not on microform. The one brother (who I have confirmed as a brother from the 1900 census) his obit just gives the address of the wake and date of death. Nothing that would help there. So don't place so much importance on this obit. There are other avenues. Certainly it would be nice to have an obit. But the SS application or death certificate would confirm who his parents were. It wouldn't hurt to try and get the death certificate. Proof of relationship is not always requested. Mary
