My Carney is Elizabeth CARNEY who married Elihu CROFUT SHERWOOD in the late 1830s and moved to Bibb CO GA and remained there. Elihu died there in 1885. I believe Elizabeth preceded him in death, but have no documented proof other being missing from the census for 1880. Can any one help me find her family in CT before 1835? Jennifer, My husband's gr-grandmother was Anna May Carney, born Sept 1880, in Norwalk, Fairfield County, CT. I haven't started to research these ancestors yet, but there may be a connection to your Carney family in CT. Please contact me if you com across a connection. I will do the same.
