    3. This is what I have. My father Michael J. Kearney ( Carney) Changed the spelling of his name when he arrived at Ellis Island sometime in 1918 or 1919. My father was born in County Clare, in the city of Ennis, on the 25th of September 1898, according to his Baptismal Certificate. His Birth Certificate states his date of Birth as 3 Oct 1898, I tend to believe the baptismal certificate as it states he was baptized on the 26th of September a day after his birth.. His Father's name was Thomas Kearney and his Mother's name was Ellen Coughlan(Maiden Name) My Grandfather Thomas had one brother named John Kearney and a sister named Bridgit Kearney. They were Catholics, lived on Old Mill Street, in Ennis and were members of The Drumcliffe Parish RC Church. My Father died in 1969, There are four children from the marriage all boys named Emmett, William, Thomas and Michael, all still living, two in NY and one in Fla, and me in Thailand. It appears that my search continues in Ireland and We don't know of any part of the family that immigrated to the states prior to my father's generation, He had an older sister who he was estranged from and she immigrated to the states after WW1, I believe her name was Jane Carney(She also changed the spelling of her name) and she moved out to California, it is believed in the 1920's, but I fear that I have come to a dead end with her as we are not sure of her name. We are searching County Clare records again, in hope.
