So many of you seem to think that all of the Carneys went West !! This is not so as my wife's family have some connections with the name. I cant give accurate dates but one ROBERT CARNEY married an ELIZABETH MILBURN (born about 1849 )in about 1875. I think that they were living then in County Durham, but later moved to the Spa town of Harrogate, also in England. Robert is reported to have had a near relative who was an Admiral in the US Navy (>>>but this could mean anything -he could have been a stoker on the Staten Island Ferry <GGG>) They had 6 children 1.Robert Jnr, 2.Jenny who married David Hislop. 3.Nance or Nancy who married Ronald Gatenby. 4.Mary Born 1875 Died 1959(Always known as Polly) who married Bolamon Young and who is my wife's (Elona Rogers) Grandmother. 5.Ada who was unmarried and Died in Harrogate,Yorkshire in 1934 and 6 Margaret also unmarried. If this is of interest to any of you then I'd like to hear from you privately. Now a little request.......Can anyone identify the following address, taken from an old letter circa 1948. It should be the address of a cousin of my wifes. She would be, if our rather elderly memories are correct, a Mary Laverack who married a Bud McKinnon. Her father was William Laverack and mother a Judith/Mary Edgar. 50 years is a long time but if anyone is in the neighbourhood perhaps they could do a little check for us. The address was Mrs Bud McKinnopn, Box 48, Revloc. Penna. Cambria Ca. USA. Cheers Peter D.Rogers, Suffolk UK Looking for Rogers,Pembroke,Bradbeer,Bradley and Harrison in Ireland ,India and wherever else that they settled.
