Hi, I have just found my 4xgrgrandfather James Carney b.c.1770 Kilbegnet, Co Galway and have received a story written by a James Carney about Hugh Carney b.1792 Kilbegnet and his crime of insurrection which he was transported for 14 years to the colonies. The person who sent me this story can't remember who she got it off. I was wondering if there are any James Carney's out there that went to Ireland to do some research after 1980. Also I was wondering if any of you listers have a photo of the town of Carney or the sign post with Territory of the Carney's on it just outside of the town.
