I am still looking for information about Thomas and Lavina. He had a son John A. There was also a son Frank Carney born in this family but have no information on him as yet. They had a child who was stillborn on 05/24/01 in Shippen Twp, Pennsylvania. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Barb

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I have been busy answering emails. My great-grandfather was a Thomas Carney from somewhere in Pennsylvania. I am at a brick wall with him and his wife Lovina Morton. They lived in Sinnemahoning, Cameron Co, Pennsylvania in 1881 when my grandfather was born. I do not know anything about them. My grandfather's death certificate didn't state where his father actually came from. I do know he was from Pennsylvania according to the census information I have received. Do they ring a bell to you? Thanks, Barb

The NARA notice from Ginny reminded me of a question I have had about Thomas Carney, who had served in some capacity as a very young person. I know an application was made but refused because of his young age (at least I think that was it). But has anyone actually sent for his packet from NARA? I will do so immediately if no one answers. I just got a packet for another gentleman who was not the person I was after. I did not feel that $10. was wasted but to send for a packet and be charged a huge amount for information that is unusable is not some thing I care to do. May be some one should start a list for acquired info from the NARA which does not pertain to their families rather than just filing it away or dumping it. Thanks to all. Betty in Idaho
