    1. [CARNEY-L] Re: CARNEY FAMILY OF SOUTH DAKOTA
    2. Do you know the parents of your James Carney? I'm looking for a James Carney who was probably born in the late 1830s or early 1840s. He joined the US Calvary after the Civil War and was stationed in SD. He married Annie Mc Namara from St. Joseph Mo. She evidently had relatives in Deadwood area. They lived in Deadwood after they were married. He was supposedly the postmaster there at one time. I know of 2 children, Albert and Agnes, but there may have been more. This James went to the Republican National Convention in St. Louis, Mo in 1895 and died while he was there. Familiar?

    1. [CARNEY-L] Re: Thomas J Carney Margaret Dunn
    2. I am replying to your request even though I do not know whether this is my Thomas J. Carney or not. My man married a Mary J. who died in 1870. Does your info go back that far? The reason I wrote is that Mary J. is buried in the Morgan Family Cemetery which is private along with Keziah Dunn Parsons. She was the daughter of John Dunn of NC. Thought there might be some connection with Margaret because Keizah and Mary J. died in the same year. There were Dunns in Morgan Co., IN at that time and I thought maybe Thomas and Margaret might have met there. Susan

    1. [CARNEY-L] Carney/McCarneys From Monaghan Ireland
    2. Hi I am a Mc Carney but it is possible that my ancestors may have dropped the MC from their name when they went to the U.S. I am particularly interested in an Ella/Ellen Mc Carney wholeft Mullinacross Smithborough Monaghan in 1904 and went to live with her brother possibly Francis or James at 330 Theodore Street Scranton PA. She came back to Ireland and returned to U.S in 1907 staying with a MRs Hand at 801 Webster Avenue Scranton P.A . She had sisters called Maggie and Lizzie who both went to the U.S . Her brother James went to U.S in 1903 and stayed with his cousin Joseph Mc Carney address of 150-10 Avenue New York. Any help in relocating the U.S branch of our family would be appreciated Damian

    1. Re: [CARNEY-L] Mildred Carney + Photo
    2. My aunt, Mildred Carney, might be the one you're referring to. She was born in Arizona, but married my uncle, Harold Carney, who was from Saginaw, Michigan. They lived in Arizona after they were married. Unfortunately, she passed away this past year. I am interested in the postcard, as it could be her. Dianne Carney Thebolt
