I am trying to locate any living relative of family below. Patrick Carmody would have been a grand uncle, supposedly if the one found in 1901 Brit. census is him he was born in Kilbrin, Co. Cork. The parents listing on 1861 thru 1901, Brit. census. saying they were born in Co. Cork also Denis Carmody in 1825 died 1907, Johanna ( miaden name unknown)Carmody in 1826. They must have immigrated to England due to famine by 1858-9. As he was an agricultural farmer. I have been researching my CARMODY family for over 40 years, and finally found they left Ireland sometime before 1861, and lived in the W. Drayton/Harlington area in 1861-1891 period then moved onto Brentford, Battersea and Bethanl Green & Heston areas.. The names were Denis and Johanna CARMODYof my great grandparents. Their children, Patrick, 1858*,( possibly Kilbrin) Johanna 1859 W. Drayton, Eng., John 1863, in Harlington Eng. an Denis 1865.Harlington, Eng. My grandfather, John, was the only one to immigrate from England to NYC. ( He left no documents , writings or papers of any of the family, so it's been a terribly long arduous search. The onlything left of him is a picture of when he servd in US Cavary, and very poor records of Army service,) No dates match anything documented.While his parents, Denis and Johanna stayed along with siblings, Patrick, Johanna, and Denis. Denis became a Bobby with London Metroploitan Police,1884-1909 and remained a bachelor, died in 1933.. Johanna married John Carter and had Elizabeth, Denis and Kathleen & Charles between 1893-1905. Johanna died betwen 1928-38, as did her husband. I found Elizabeth marriage to Michael O'Regan along with chilldren Mary, and Daniel. Daniel killed in beginning of WWII, Mary married Michael O'Regan. One of their children married into Wortley family. I have just come across information on possibly my Patrick Carmody, b.Kilbrin, Co. Cork, married to Norah,(probably around 1886-7 in W. Drayton) along with 7-9 children born between 1889-1905 and looking for any living relatives of these members of Patrick Carmody famly. named John, Michael, Thomas, Andrew, Patrick, Johanna, Margaret and Norah......possibly others unknown at this time. This info from 1901 Brit. census. Hoping to establish contact with a living desendent of the above for further information. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Please contact me via this list.
