Any help would be appreciate in learning more about the ancestors of my gggrandparents John LEWIS, and Mary and Sarah THOMAS who were born in Abergwilly, Carmarthanshire. Sarah THOMAS (my gggrandmother) born in Abergwilli born about 1810 married John GRIFFITHS of Llanarthney, Carmarthanshire and lived in Llanarthney area. In the 1841 census, John and Sarah were living with David LODWIG who is 80 years old on the LODWIG farm In the 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881 Census, Sarah THOMAS and John GRIFFITHS continue to live on the LODWIG farm with their children, Elizabeth, David, Evan, John. This son, my ggrandfather John GRIFFITHS married Eliza EDWARDS in Merthyr Tydfil (John and his brother, David, went probably to work in coal and iron industry) My grandmother, Sarah GRIFFITHS was born in Merthyr Tydfil in 1853 before the family came to USA. John LEWIS born about 1796 married Mary THOMAS born in Abergwilly Rachel, William, Isaac and Mary. Their son William LEWIS married Elizabeth MORGANS in Vaynor Church. and came to USA in 1854.
