I would very much appreciate any assistance in overcoming my Carmarthenshire brickwalls, which are as follows: - 1) I have been unable to identify the parents of my g g grandfather David PARRY. He married Elizabeth MORGANS in the Independent Chapel at Llanfair ar y bryn on 4 December 1840. Unfortunately the marriage certificate does not include the names of the father of either the groom or the bride. The registry office has confirmed their records do not include the names either. The 1851 census shows that David was born in Llanfair ar y bryn c 1812/13. The 1861 census indicates his birth as being a year earlier. The 1871 census is in line with that of 1851. His son David gave his age as 65 when he died in 1875, which indicates a birth year of 1809/10. 2) For the same reason I have been unable to identify the parents of my g g grandmother Elizabeth PARRY (née MORGANS). The 1851 census shows that Elizabeth was born in Conwil Caio c 1812/13 which is consistent not only with the census returns of 1861 and 1871, but also her death in 1873 at the age of 60. 3) Both David and Elizabeth were buried in the graveyard attached to the Independent Chapel at Pentre ty gwyn. The headstone on their grave indicates that they lost two children as infants. I have been unable to discover their names or when they were born or died. The chapel registers from 1837 to the early 1900s have been lost! I know that their first son, David, was born on 28 August 1841 (his birth was registered). Their son Jenkin (my g grandfather) was born c 1845/46 although his birth does not appear to have been registered. I would very much like to discover details of the two unknown infants I suspect that it may well prove to be impossible to overcome these brickwalls, but who knows for sure!! Adrian Yorkshire
