    3. I was reading last nights evening post and they were reporting on the fact that Babell Chapel in Carmarthen Road Cwmbwria are going to have their headstones removed to make way for Swansea housing consortium to build new homes . Gravestones under 50 years old will be placed on the boundary of the property and the older ones will be broken up and disposed of within 2 months . There are 800 graves at his site no bodies to be exhumed but they promise to TRY to move the gravestones to a memorial garden. It goes on to say that the John Williams has 4 generations of his family there all members of the Presbyterian Church of Wales and its predecessor The Welsh Calvinistic Methodists. I can Just make out a bit of the info on one of the graves in the photo Glyn Ivor Johnson, John Charles Johnson Also Mary beloved wife of the above also Gladys. rest of the info to small to read clearly Althea

    3. This is terrible and something similar happened to an East London burial place a few years ago. I seemed to recall at the time there was quite a campaign to stop it happening. Did I not read somewhere that graves under 100 years old cannot be obliterated or was that just my fancy. My sister died as an infant 54 years ago and I would be saddened to think someone was going to despoil her grave. In the brutal world of the property developer these sort of things are just considered sentimental Christopher (6684) Still looking for: CHALLENER - (Anywhere) DAVIES (Carmarthenshire/Pembrokeshire) SPROSTON (Mainly Cheshire) TREMBLE (Co.
