Hi Pauline, If I pay the £20 membership now, what do I receive, and do I have to pay again in January? Also could you answer this. I read on Familysearch that there were wills for a Newby ancestor and his wife. It states that Richard newby left a will on 3rd March 1765, also his wife(same date). I think he was born in England but died in Wales. Will I be able to see this/these in Carmarthenshire record office, or could I get copies of them? Thanks for your help, Jenny
Hi Jenny Membership - joining CFHS now is until December 31 2006.......so a year and 2 months if you join now. This year it is online indexes including 1841 and 1851 census returns, name index and trancription which are not available anywhere else for Carmarthenshire... If the will is in St Davids Diocese you can view the abstract in Carmarthen record office or you can purchase the actual will from NLW ........ To view what is online go to the web pages at http://www.carmarthenshirefhs.co.uk or http://www.wales-genealogy.co.uk thanks for your interest....
