To answer your question, the first knowledge I have is from the 1841 and 1851 census of Gloucestershire, England, which lists the birthplace of WILLIAM EDWARDS as "Llanelity, Glamorgan, Wales" In 1851 he was 34 years of age and his occupation was Blacksmith. On June 27, 1847, he married Eliza Davis of Chaxhill, Gloucestershire. He passed away between the years of 1861 and 1871 and is buried in St. John's Churchyard in Cinderford, Gloucestershire. One census lists the birthplace of his brother, thomas, as "Caermarthen, Llanethly, Wales". This is about all that I know, so not having anymore information on his birthplace, it looks as if I have come up against one of those "brick walls", but I don't want to give up on my search.
