Hello Pauline, Many thanks for explaining to me how to send messages to the list, (I feel a right idiot) Henry Stuckey Gifford was born in South Petherton in Somerset. His surname was originally Stuckey which he didn't like (so I have been told) so he change to his mothers maiden name Gifford (Hence Stuckey Gifford) As you say it is perhaps best for me to send for a birth certificate.
