Thanks very much for your help Pauline it is really interesting. I need to find the parents of a William POWELL who was born in 1828 and migrated to Tasmania around 1840-1850. I was always told he was the son of the murdered William POWELL but this can't be so as there is a 58 year gap. I am not sure where to search next.
