Hello again Paul I think the Hamlet of Williamston is in the parish of Begelly. Did I ever send you this possibility for the marriage of Levi's parents? William Phillip (wid) of Begelly married Elizabeth Waters (wid) in St Issells on 16 May 1818 I still haven't heard from Susan (the one who is also related to this family) - but I have found some more of my old e-mails. I've added bits below - I hope it may give you some more info. Have you come across Pierce before? Cheers Pat "Old stuff":- From Susan: I have not done too much on my Levi Phillips, on the census it is stated he was born at Tenby, however, I have a baptism I think is his (not proven yet), but it is for Begelly, Pems. Vatson land, this shows parents a William and Elizabeth. From me: Hello again Susan Not so much luck with William Phillips I'm afraid. This is the father of Levi isn't it? I couldn't find him in 1851 - so I checked back on 1841 I think you had the 1841 entry didn't you? Anyway reminding myself that wife was Elizabeth - 54 in 1841 - I had another look. I found a possibility for Elizabeth (as William was a widower in 1871 do you know when she died?) Thanks Pat I haven`t come across Pierce before and the marriage info is new as well. I will keep cross checking to see if it is correct. How can I check the actual baptism records for Levi to make sure of the parents?
