Thanks Pauline - I have not so far come across a Sylen in transcribing the 1841 census unless it is in the later part of Borough Diana
Hi Pauline and Diane I know that "sydyn" simply means "sudden" in Welsh but I can find no reference in the dictionary to Syddyn or Sylen unless it's an anglicised place / proper name of some sort.
