Hi Michael Yes there are hardcopies of the publications in the CRO, when you see them you will realise that they would be large files. when you attempt to download these files it will tell you in the bottom left of the window the actual size of the file you are downloading. If you do not have broadband you are going to struggle downloading much of the images and scanned data, but you should be able to access the databases which are available with reasonable ease. with the History of Carmarthenshire, view the indexes first then download what you would like to view rather than try to download the whole lot at once, this goes for the images as well.
