    3. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all, Hello Pat I cannot think where the marriage information came from for John Howell and Rachel Evan. In the 1861 census I have found living in Cottage, River Side, Landdowror John Howell aged 47 agricultural lab born Llangan Rachel Howell aged 45 wife born Carmarthen..... listed are children my line is son John Howell son 10 born Llanddowror In the 1851 census, which I have not seen but Pauline found for me was John Howell aged 39 railway lab born Llangan Rachel Howell aged 34 born Llanglydwen So this information I have recorded, the marriage of John and Rachel (7.12.1837. Lanboidy), I cannot find where I got this info from, I have no marriage certificate. So I will have to pick the line up from here, to clarify this info, first finding if this marriage date is correct and any parent info etc. I cannot think where this marriage info came from, unless Pauline had found this out for me before. I have looked on the 1837 online.com but there is no marriage for above, the only marriage in that qtr is John Howell to Mary Evan Narberth vol.26 page 809 That is the only marriage can it be just a coincidence that a John Howell married an Evan in the qtr I am searching, could the Mary be a mistake or did she take up the name Rachel for some reason? All census rtns and John Howell jnr have her down as Rachel. Also would Narberth be the right district? It is this marriage where I have to go from here, what do you think would be the next logical step to take? Hope this is clear, best wishes Dave

    3. Hello Dave I have a record of the marriage of John and Rachel on Dec 7th 1837 in Llanboisy from the DyfedFHS fiche of births marriages and deaths in the Llanboisy parish register. So I would think it definitely happened. You should be able to buy a copy of the parish register page from the Haverfordwest Record Office for about £1. As it is after July 1837 it will give you all the details from the marriage e.g fathers name and occupation etc. (I only have the date on the fiche) I originally asked you for the marriage details for John and Rachel because I had saved this message you sent to the list in 2003 where you said you already had the marriage certificate as shown below:- "----- Original Message ----- From: Dave Howells Sent: Wednesday, November 05, 2003 6:19 PM Subject: John Howell Pauline wander if you can help, I have from CRO a copy of marriage cert for John Howell to Rachel Evan 7/12/1837 in Church of Llanboidy to the rites and ceremonies of the C of E. but I have been to NLW today and cannot find anything in the BT's what do you think? rgds" Possibly you had a note of the marriage date and thought at the time that it had come from a certificate. Anyway if you send for the parish register entry I would be very interested in the details. What did you think of my comment on Daniel rather than David? By the way in your family details that you sent me you have Benjamin shown as born 1841 - In the 1851 census he is aged & and David is aged 10. All for now Pat Cheers Pat In message <000501c60ed0$1e8a3bc0$95e02552@fishtank>, Dave Howells <d.jhowells@blueyonder.co.uk> writes >HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all, > >Hello Pat >I cannot think where the marriage information came from for John Howell and >Rachel Evan. >In the 1861 census I have found living in Cottage, River Side, Landdowror >John Howell aged 47 agricultural lab born Llangan >Rachel Howell aged 45 wife born Carmarthen..... >listed are children my line is son >John Howell son 10 born Llanddowror >In the 1851 census, which I have not seen but Pauline found for me was >John Howell aged 39 railway lab born Llangan >Rachel Howell aged 34 born Llanglydwen >So this information I have recorded, the marriage of John and Rachel >(7.12.1837.
