Hello List, I wonder if there is sks who can help me find the following family who resided in Carmarthen Town, 1870/86? James [David]? Rowlands, - his wife was - Elizabeth, - family tradition has James' profession as being a - 'surgeon'- . Could possibly have been a 'ship's surgeon'. In the early 1870s I believe they lived in - 'Spilman or Spelman Street, Carmarthen'- . I do not know of any children that can be definitely attached to the couple. I would be very grateful for any advice or information regarding this family, thank you. Dorothy.
Hello Dorothy Dorothy Do you have an approximate age for James? Hello Barb, I do not know if you saw Pauline's reply on the List, where she found a James Rowlands and his family in the 1851 census. I am going with his son John David as my man, so he would have been born around 1844, fingers crossed. Hello Pauline, thank you very much for your fast response. What a lovely lot of threads to follow up. I do not think it is 'my' James, but it could possibly be his mother and father and a load of siblings. Strangely there is no son named for his father. Could perhaps John David be my James David, who grew up to follow his father into the medical profession? I must try and bring them down through the various censii. Thank you again for all your help. Dorothy.
