could any one give me advice on tracing turn of last century llanelly burials - i got nowhere with ancestry for the exact gro death year and quarter and the carmarthenshire master burials index on ukgenealogy did not help either - what is know is that my grandmothers parents are in the 1911 census in llanelly - and prob died either that year or a couple after that i.e david lloyd davies b.1863 (Carmarthen) and his wife mary ellen davies b 1863 (Poplar). they lived in pottery place, llanelly 1911, which church burial index would they be in? any advice welcome as i have tried all the above mervyn
Hi How sure are you that they died around 1911 as they would have both been quite young (about 48yrs of age)? If you have a firmer idea of a year range when they might have died would help as you could the E-Mail registrars@carmarthenshire.gov.uk with the details you have and then they could so a search around this time period for you. Have you also tried searching under Mary E Davies and David L Davies as quite often just an initial is given in the records for any middle name: For example, I don't think it is yours as it in Llandovery, but there is a Mary E Davies of the right age (54) who died in Llandovery in June Qtr 1917 (found on free BMD http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl , but be aware these records are incomplete) DAVIES Mary E age 54 Llandovery 11a1126 Plus more promising is a David L Davies again of the right age (63) who died Dec Quarter 1926 Davies David L age 63 Llanelly 11a1066 Roy ----- Original Message ----- From: "M. Hi Mervyn Have you tried both St Pauls and St Elli under Llanelly parish, not the master burials? Do you know if they were of the parish church or non-conformists? If non-conformists they could be in Box Cemetary.... Let me know Thanks Pauline -----Original Message----- From: carmarthenshire-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:carmarthenshire-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of M.
