Hello Jane If it does say "Glamorgan" - then sre you sure it is the Carmarthenshire Llanelli you want? There isn't one in Glamorgan - but there is another oner further east - sometimes shown in Monmouthshire and sometime in Breconshire as the border has changes at different times. As he moved on to Cincerford then the MOn/Bre Llanelly seems much more likely. Hello Jan - I haven't found him yet in the 1841 census but I will keep looking as I transcribe. I have found only one Edward family so far but no William Edward amongst them. Let you know when I find hium Diana
According to the 1851 census of Cinderford, WILLIAM EDWARDS was born in Llanelly, Glamorgan, Wales on Feb. 27, 1817. This is all that I have, but I hope it will be of some help. Thank you for all the help you give. Regards, Jane in Cal.
Wonder if somebody can help me with my search for the wedding-records of the following family in Llanelli-area: Edward Robert to Margaret ...... near 1762 William Robert to Ann ....... near 1765 Edward Robert lived at Ty -isha. Only know about William and Ann that they had a son Thomas Roberts, born 1765. Elwyn- Netherlands.
Thanks Diana......if the weather is kind to you today hope you make the most of it........ Its bank holiday here this weekend to celebrate the feast of Santa Maria, its to celebrate the British Convoy who managed to enter Malta in 1941ish and saved them from sure starvation as they were bombarded by heavy fire from aircraft and ships so nothing could get in or out.....out of 23 ships we are told that only 3 made it...........without Malta the war in the middle east could have been lost...... Another little piece of history.......Pauline ----- Original Message ----- From: "diana murray" <littlewarrenfarm@fletchingcommon.fsbusiness.co.uk> To: <CARMARTHENSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, August 14, 2005 10:18 AM Subject: Re: [Cmn-L] WILLIAM EDWARDS-LLANELLY > Hello Pauline and Jane - I have not found William Edwards in Hengoed or so > far in Westfa. Hi Jane Where does it say he was born in the 1851 census? As you know I picked this one from Llanelly as he was of an approximate age that you gave...... Hello Pauline and Jane - I have not found William Edwards in Hengoed or so far in Westfa. There is only one Edwards family that I have found so far in Westfa. I am still looking Diana
Please could someone do a look up for me in 1871 for a Jane Morris living at Garn Llandilo Fawr in 1871 thanks Althea
Hello Pauline I hadn't looked at the Llanelly Family History web page for a while - what a fantastic resource! I was very pleased to see the 1851 census index as hopefully it will help me fill some gaps in my family tree that I haven't gone into before. Would it be possible to have the information for my great-grandmother Elizabeth Roberts and her family? She was born about 1832 in Llanelly (from age given in 1881 census) and I see there are 4 possibles in the index, aged 23, 18, and two aged 17. However, I know her father's name was Edward, and there are only two possibles there; one aged 50 and one aged 51. Hopefully these will tie up! Best wishes Liz
Hi Pauline, Thank you very much for the 1851 census - your valuable help is always appreciated. Now I am really confused, as I have an 1851 census of England listing WILLIAM EDWARDS, age 34, a blacksmith, married to Eliza, and living in Cinderford. Would the 1841 census help to clear up some of this confusion? Regards, Jane in Cal.

Hello Pauline - I have been clearing up the chaos this morning!!! thank you so much for the transcription - well well it looks as if I may have found John W's mother!! It would seem that the Jane W who married James D Thomas (witness on JW 1834 marriage) was named after the mother. I was so excited last night to have found her. But where on earth was she in 1841 - I suppose she could have been looking after someone having a baby or something. Don't worry about the Pembrey one - the Llanelly one looks right. At least now I can try to tie her up with one of the family in the 1841 census. thanks Diana
Hello Pauline - sorry that should have read grandmother of John W 1834! Diana
Hello Pauline - please may I have the following look ups - I may have found the mother of John W 1834. Swansea Road Llanelly 1e Joseph Williams 36 Ruth wife 23 Jane Williams mother 60 46 Stradley Hill 1i Pembrey3 Pembrey Thomas Samuel 33 Margaret Samuel 36 Jane Samuel David Dsey???what is this please I have the marriage of Margaret William to Thomas Samuel 8/11/1836 which looks likely and then I found them on the 1861 census in New Road with a mother in law Jane William aged 75 years. This one could tie up with the Swansea Road one. Living with different children. O just the first one is correct and she is dead by 1861. So hopefully I have found a brother of John W 1834 ie Joseph W born c 1824. I will keep a look out for her whilst transcribing the 1841 census. Thanks Diana - an exhausted grandmother after having eight children here for the day!!

Hi Pat & All noticed what you were telling Graham I have added the 'NUMBER' to the advanced search for 1841 census, this will probably help with searches. You will all probably have noticed that I have also added: Marriage Bonds of Wales 1601-1800 West Wales & Gower Bonds & Fiats 1612-1800 St Davids Diocese Testators Wills Indexes 1564-1858 Carmarthenshire Marriages 1754-1837 Monumentals [about 6000] There will be more shortly, I will also be uploading E-books etc, Directories etc, which will all be helpfull to members for research, Regards Richard
