Hello Helen - Elaine Hopkins is extrememly helpful and her address is Ehopkins@camarthenshire.gov.uk Diana
Fellow Listers . Having difficulty in contacting reg.Carm. Have determined that I must find some way to find the birthdate of Wm.Williams and his county of birth. I know he was 40yrs of age in 1841 Census. Wed Rachel James in Llanfair-ar-bryn Church by Banns on 8-23-1828. His sons obituary indicates that he died in May 1847. Will the death certificate give me the info I seek?Is there anyway to find any records that might provide me with dob and county and place of birth..? Any suggestions will be gladly appreciated. Thanks,,Bill
Have done, thanks both of you. Regards Helen
To everyone that answered my earlier question on Capel Als I thank you very much. To Jim Joseph: If you really don't mind looking in your fabulous book for me it would be appreciated(and in all honesty a translation would be needed) From a newspaper cutting I have for my g.grandparents 50th wedding anniversary it shows the following: My g.grandparents were James Richard Hopkins who married Charlotte Jane Harris in 1893 at St John's Church, Skewan. It also states that he was a senior deacon at Capel Als at the time of there 50th anniversary in1943. I have been in contact with someone on another list that remembers the Hopkins family at Capal Al's and I know my mother always insisted that her mother had a baby girl stillborn that they named Mary and she was buried at Capal Als. I am slowly gathering information on Capal Al's and as stated above my g.grandfather was a senior deacon and he was also a builder in Llanelli for many years and the house my grandmother lived in on James St was built by him. Anyway anything you might find would be appreciated. Sandie
Hi Sandie, You're welcome! I also have some pictures of both the inside and the outside of Capel Als that I could E-mail you. Perhaps Pauline might want to post some of them on the site. I'll send you a translation of anything I find on the Hopkins family you mentioned. Hello, Not sure if SKS has the availability to lookup marriages. If not, is it registrars@ whatever? to ask for a lookup between 2 years with a view to getting a certificate. Many thanks Helen Looking for marriage of Benjamin Davies to Mary Jones 1843-1845 in Carmarthenshire. Parents of Mary believed to be Harry and Mary. Benjamin's unknown.

Hi Pauline - Cannot find her in the marriage index. I hope it was a second wife after 1837. I will check! Diana
Thanks Pauline - I now have the problem of sorting out who was John W senior's siblings and who was John W 1834's siblings!! They did seem to over lap at times. I should be so lucky after all the barren times of no family at all!! Diana
