    3. Hello, Diana, Thank you for all the research you do on my behalf. This is the information that I have from the 1851 census of Cinderford, Gloucestershire, England: William Edwards, age 34, Blacksmith, Llanethly - wife, Eliza, Claxhill - Mary, 3, Cinderford - William, l, Cinderford. In comparing the 1851 and 1861 censuses, the 1861 census lists William Edwards 1817, Llanelity, Glamorgan, Wales. Is Llanelity a different location than Llanethly, or would this be just a mis-spelling? Hoping this additional information will be of some help. Many thanks, again. Regards, Jane in Cal.

    1. GRIFFITHS of Laugharne
    2. Pauline I would be very grateful for any information on Walter and Elizabeth GRIFFITH if you come across them in the parish records. As Martha SMITH their daughter appears on the 1881 census at Amber Hill near Boston, Lincs. Presumably her husband found his way from Lincolnshire to Laugharne by boat. Kind regards John Dawson Sutton Coldfield

    3. I am seeking any information on Jennet David who lived in Llanelli about 1810. She was probably born in or around Llanelli sometime between 1780 and 1790. She had one son, David Walters, in 1810 in Llanelli. He seems to have been born out of wedlock and the father was Thomas Walters. I have no further information about her and would welcome any clues.

    3. Hi Willie In 1841 Joseph was 6 years old, he also had an older brother David who was not at home in 1851 although the parents ages here are 35 we know they rounded them down, but they were still out by quite a few years, and yes, it is the same family.... - if you want the full entry let me know..... How old was Mary Thomas in 1861 so that perhaps I can find her in 1851 as there are lots of Mary Thomas's there......I have a lodger named David Thomas in 1851 aged 68, so perhaps he was not belonging but always a lodger, he was a widower..... I cannot find a relevant marriage for Joseph Morris and Elizabeth in Carmarthenshire marriages to 1837.... I'll see what else I can find......Pauline ----- Original Message ----- From: <willie.morris@tiscali.co.uk> To: <CARMARTHENSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, September 01, 2005 6:14 PM Subject: Re: [Cmn-L] Re: Joseph Morris Llanelly > Hello Pauline, > > Thank you once again for your reply, > > Yes, my Joseph MORRIS does state Llanelly as his birthplace. 3. Hi Peter The record office Carmarthen has baptisms for Llanelly St Elli baptisms: 1684-1923 marriages: 1684-1971 burials: 1684-1930 I have indexed Llanelly for all three from 1684 but baptisms I gave up at 1832, burials 1847 (although plan to go further) and the marriages to 1837 Hope this helps.......I have indexed 1851 census if that is any help to you?? 2. Hello Pauline, Thank you once again for your reply, Yes, my Joseph MORRIS does state Llanelly as his birthplace. His wife Mary also gives her birthplace as Llanelly. On my Gr. Grandfather's birth certificate, her surname is given as THOMAS. As yet I have not found a marriage for Joseph and Mary, and I do not know the name of Joseph's father. On the 1861 census Joseph and Mary (sounds Biblical) have a David THOMAS living with them, he is enumerated as a Boarder, Widower, aged 78 yrs, Dock Labourer, born Llanelly. Could this be Mary's father? If so, why not enumerated as father in law? Once again, many thanks, Willie.

Hi Peter In 1835 Llanelly St Elli was the only parish church of Llanelly parish..........even Glyn hamlet Llanelly, but Glyn hamlet is in quite a few parishes bordering Llanelly.....but, if it stated Llanelly it will be St Elli....and yes they would have had to travel there Ebenezer Morris......ah yes....!!
