While indexing 1841 Llanwinio I came across a 20 years old female FS called MARESHAH Marks. It is very clear and unambiguous ( unlike the rest of the 1841 Llanwinio) Considering that 99.9% of Llanwinio females are named Elizabeth, Anne or Mary Jones it stands out. Could it be a Gypsy name? Rina--it must be one of your Marks's, she is a FS at Pantyderry fach not far from the other Marks family. Is your Levi the one shown in 74 Garth Road Cwmdu in 1881 with children David (24) Margaret (16) William (14) and George (12) If so I have corresponded with someone else re this family in the past. Hi Helen, The first part is straightforward, but the asterisks are a little more diffficult ... :-) Here's the first section (with some substitutions of the Welsh letters to form words that make sense to me): In memory of Rees Jones, son of Harry Jones, Tyncoed of this place. He died January 21, 1939, at the age of 18 years. I'll try to decipher the last part.
