    3. This is truly a sad state of affairs, which we only have our current government to thank whereby greed is more important, and profitable, than preserving our history and heritage. If we don't cherish and preserve our history and heritage, whathave we left? Or, sadly, maybe this is the big plan. I don't know. But I would think that if enough family historians and genealogists raised a stink and alarm, we might be able to aid the cause for preservation? 3. Hello Gwenda - I asked my husband who is a reader in the church!! Adulam is a Cannanite city in Judah fortified by Rhoboam who was a king of Judah. Mentioned by Micah and inhabited after the Exile in Babylon approx 500 bc (we think!) It is usually associated with the cave in which King David hid when pursued by Saul. We have a picture of it in our bible dictionary. I learn something new every day. Diana

    2. Athea...This smacks of the movie Poltergeist where developers built a housing project over an old cemetary. Always thot that a cemetary was a hallowed ground. Granted that under or over 50 years would be a matter of ashes to ashes and dust to dust. It would seem that is some form of descecration to those interred whose remains have since mingled with the earth where they rest to be violated by a backhoe. Sometimes developers and politicians see only profit and progress and totally dismiss or ignore why we created cemetaries to honor and leave a living testimony to those loved ones who have gone on before. To ignore the sanctity of the grave is outrageous. To remove stones over 50 yrs of age , whether llegible or not and crush them into gravel gravel is an insult to the deceased and their kin......In another Movie the Loved Ones developers designed a scheme to send the bodies into orbit so they could develop the property....Fact seems to have merged with fiction....... 3. I was reading last nights evening post and they were reporting on the fact that Babell Chapel in Carmarthen Road Cwmbwria are going to have their headstones removed to make way for Swansea housing consortium to build new homes . Gravestones under 50 years old will be placed on the boundary of the property and the older ones will be broken up and disposed of within 2 months . There are 800 graves at his site no bodies to be exhumed but they promise to TRY to move the gravestones to a memorial garden. It goes on to say that the John Williams has 4 generations of his family there all members of the Presbyterian Church of Wales and its predecessor The Welsh Calvinistic Methodists. I can Just make out a bit of the info on one of the graves in the photo Glyn Ivor Johnson, John Charles Johnson Also Mary beloved wife of the above also Gladys. rest of the info to small to read clearly Althea

    2. Hi Pat. Thanks for your efforts. Regretably all of my archives only indicate that they came to the states from Glamorganshire. Unlike my Williams side who gave Rhandir Mywn Parish as their abode before coming to America. One possible clue to a census search would be to see if there is a widow Jane Davies with a ten yr old daughter Ann(b.1841) with two other siblings in 1851 Census. .Back in 2004 Judith George found a Morgan family in Merthyr Tydfil some points matched but not enough for confirmation. Will try Ancestry. Com as you suggested..Take care..Bill

    2. Thank You, everything is loud and clear. Recently installed new virus blockers and spyware. Would like to share with listers, the success I have had in finding vital information in Obitruaries. They often can be found on microfish in libraries in town or city of death. Permit me to share a few excerpts on my kin and how they brought their Welshness to America.........Oak Hill Press(Ohio) James G, Morgan(d.1941)....."in his youth he enjoyed gathering around the organ in their little home and singing the old Welsh dear to the hearts of all Welsh Boys and Girls....He had a keen air for music." Mrs. James G. Morgan(d.1969)Her parents were early Welsh pioneers both of whom had been born in Wales. Her mother's people were from the northern part of Wales and in order to distinguish them from the other families they were called the Jones(North) Family."......Daniel Morgan Jones(d.1980)....."At the time he started school , he and his sister could only speak the Welsh Language spoken predominately in their home church and community....."American of strict Welsh heritage and very proud of his Celtic Forebearers".........."A man of his Welsh proudness through his later years of ups and downs.".....Wilkes Barre Record(Pa.).Morgan B..Williams(d,1903)......." he had a good singing voice and was a consistent member of the Welsh Presbyterian Church and when it was rebuilt he gave $5000. to its work."

    3. Hi Bill I've had a look at this query and with such names there are so many possibles. Thinking that Ursula would be a good place to start - I have had no luck. Are you sure they should be Glamorganshire in 1841 aND 1851? Have you any idea at all what part of the county? It's a big place. Maybe not in size in American terms - but certainly in number of towns and villages. Do you have any of these people in another census? let us know where and the details. Have you had a look via the 1851 index on Ancestry.co Uk? Cheers Pat In message <1da.4670f76b.30803512@aol.com>, Taffywilliam@aol.com writes >In the 1841 Census returns for Glamorganshire, Ann Davies , daughter of John >and Jane Hughes Davies woluld have been an infant and only child.
