Hello Pauline, Thanks for the reply. William Davies married at the Parish Church, Baglan, Glamorgan on 29th November, 1845. It says at bottom of certificate "married in the parish church according to the rites and ceremonies of the Bartholomew Church after banns by me" Hope this helps Regards Helen

Hi Pauline, thanks for forwarding this reply..I'm just about to try the hyperlink now! The birth certificate I have is my partners' Grandmother and the marriage would be his Great-grandparents..intrepid travellers all! Just a query..I unsub'd from the list and subd to the Digest form, but I still get individual e-mails in addition to the Digest. Good morning Listers! Todays (sheepishly asked) question is this: I have a downloaded page of a marriage register for 1936 which lists lists the names of BOTH parties to each marriage. My problem is, I don't know where I got it from - I assume I was overcome with excitement at finding this and failed to record that fact. The column headings are "Names of persons married, District Vol Page". So for example, we have "Craigen, George F. Martin Liverpool S. 8 b 220" This refers to the marriage of my Uncle George and his bride, Jessie Martin. Can anyone identity which of the myriad of genealogy sites I could have got this from? A coincidence was that in looking up "Kennedy" I found that it was near Hinchinbrook island, and I live near Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire (England) and there is a Hinchinbrook House there!! I do have specific details of the bride and groom; name , age and birthplace and ,of course, the date of marriage in Charters Towers. The Australian certificates were very detailed weren't they? Hi Margaret, Charters Towers is outside Townsville , a town north of Brisbane by about 1000 klms Townsville is very hot but a nice place to "visit " for a short time , and of course its full of Aussies. Are you thinking of a visit. The Births deaths and marriages are well docunentrd here and are available on line, but like everywhere else you must have specific accurate info to do a valid search.
