Hello lists - if anyone has any registers from Adulam or Ty Newydd then Gwenda and I would be happy to translate and transcribe them (I hope that is ok Gwenda!!) Please let either of us know. This is with special thanks to Dave Davies in Boulder county who entrusted his records to us to be transcribed. Diana
Diana and Gwenda Thank YOU for doing all the work, all I did was send the package over!! There is a very sweet moment in the Adulam record, on the 13th Aug 1815 my 4 g grandmother Mary Jenkins was baptised at the same time as her neighbour Ann Daniel. A few year later she married Ann's bother Morgan Daniel. On the very same day ( Aug 13th ) Mary's mother ( Mary) and father ( Aaron ) were "reinstated" into the Chapel after being excluded before. There must be a story behind this!!! ( all of them, Aaron, Mary, Morgan are buried at the old Chapel of Horeb Five Roads) Dave Davies
Gaynor I cannot see her in Laugharne baptisms between 1797 and 1800.........are you sure she was baptised in the parish church.........no James at all between those years let me know why you know she should be there.......Pauline ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gaynor Michael" <gaynor@michaelgw.wanadoo.co.uk> To: <CARMARTHENSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, January 13, 2006 11:34 AM Subject: [Cmn-L] Laugharne Baptisms 1651 -1812 > Pauline, > > I have not had any problems opening the census files but there appears to > be > an error on the Laugharne Baptisms 1651-1812. Does anyone have either of these in their family tree...... first one not a common name - but nice one!! Carmarthen St Peters baptisms 1813-1823 1822 14th April born 11th March Thomas Plush son William Coldwell Plush and Catharine, Near the Market, Police Officer.... another interesting one on this page 1822 17th April born 7th instant Easter Brown son John and Maria Brown, Calibaur near Siera Leone, Africa.....Miner nice if someone can claim either of these... Pauline
Pauline, I have not had any problems opening the census files but there appears to be an error on the Laugharne Baptisms 1651-1812. I am trying to trace Margaret James one of my ancestors who was born in Laugharne in 1797-1800. Many thanks for providing the members of Carmarthenshire FHS access to these records Gaynor
Hello list, Wonder if somebody can help me with my search for the birth-record of my David Robert(s). Only know that he married Mary Samuel on June 19th 1801 at St.Elli's, Llanelli. Could not find David and Mary in the Adulam records. Family was at Caeswddu in 1820. Later at Pentrepubir, again later Ynis in Felinfoel,Llanelli. Mary Samuel was born in 1775, but do not know where too. Found deathrecord of Mary Robert in 1865 (90). David was not in 1841 census, so he must have died between 1833-1841. David was in voterslist 1833. Owner of freehold houses and garden, Hengoed Hamlet. Also have not been able to find out where Mary Robert was buried in 1865. Elwyn - Netherlands.

If anybody can suggest a line of approach for this search I would be obliged. I don't know if I would be able to contact Kemmis Buckley re her sources?

There are a number of groups according to which area of Scotland you want and there is a general scottish one as well. The GENUKI site should help you work out which one best suits you. E.g. I use Scotland (SCOTLAND-L@rootsweb.com) and Lanarkshire (LANARK-L@rootsweb.com). The normal subscribe & unsubscribe mechanism is used. Diana......
