Hello, Is anyone able to help me, either with info or pointing me in the right direction, please? I am trying to locate the birth of a William Davies, born Carmarthen St. Peters circa 1822. He was married and was living in Baglan, Glamorgan in 1845. He married 29/11/1845 and was of full age and his father was a John Davies, Engineer. He continued living in Glamorgan but from Census it states born in Carmarthernshire. Sometimes it stated Carmarthen Town. Any ideas, many thanks. Regards Helen

I think I may have found my greatgrandmothers brother on 1841 census for Llanelli, It says he was born " on the sea". Can I find anymore information about this. His name was Benjamin Samuel and he was 26 in 1841 so his D.O.B would have been abt. 1815.He was living at Seaside and was a copperman. Linda

( That I got from his marriage certificate) With all that info, I sent an email to Carmarthen Registrars yesterday,(as you suggested in this email today !) and I'm now awaiting a reply. Ron, how about getting a birth certificate for one of the children, you will know the mothers maiden name, their address and occupation of the father..... To me that seems the easiest way to find them...... Hope you had a good sleep It is always better to go to the registry office where the event was registered much easier that way...... Hello Pauline - tell me about Llandefeilog!! I cannot seem to find out much about the place on line apart from the fact that it is sometimes associated with St. Ishmaels and Kidwelly. Thank you for the baptism of Daniel Davies 1807 - found him at long last - and that took me back another couple of generations on a side of the family that has been a total brick wall between two counties. This is where the great website of the CFHS comes into its own. I had one break and then using the parish records, the 1841 census and the marriage records on line I went down four sides of the family!! Hi David I only have marriage indexes pre 1837 when everyone had to marry in the parish church before registration. What was William's occupation........do you know his fathers name? You cannot personally view the marriage entries in the registry office, but you can request they check a marriage for you.......if you have his occupation it will narrow the possibilites for you, even better if you have name of father.... another way to obtain the correct information is to purchase a birth certificate of one of their children that was born to them.......this will give you the mothers maiden name.......if a popular name you will need to give address and parish to the registrar.....(address you have on the census) their email address is Registrars@carmarthenshire.gov.uk give them as much information as you have to ensure you have the correct certificate. keep us informed as to how you get on..... hello im after some help ihave found out that my thomas and elizabeth price are burired in llanelly in the parish church graveyard not sure of the name. i would love to know what happend to their children mary blodwen, henry, emily ann, arhundra may, noah burton, abraham, frederick nelson, amos and susannaha who were all born in llanelli from 18941 to 1908. there might have been more children but these are the ones i know of. Dear All, I have spent two days at Carmarthenshire Record office looking up Vipond,s and Thomas's, Cilycwm registers are VERY difficult to read!!!. I would like some advise please. I need to Find the marriage of William Thomas = Mary [ born abt 1789] William's first wife died April 23 1838 aged 44, William had remarried by the 1841 census. Free BDM gives me three possible William Thomas Marriages at Llandovery but five Mary's Surnames Nicholas, Davies, James, Evans, and Jones. Other than pay for five certs how can I track the right marriage? Llanfair ar y Bryn registers are not available after 1837. Can I go to the registrar's office and look at the registers?
