    1. Llansawel & Talley
    2. Hi, Can SKS help please? I am trying to locate a family on 1871 census but not sure where to look. I have 1871 census but not sure if I read somewhere that Llanswel used to be called Llandigat? The place I am trying to look up is Llansawel and Talley. Many thanks Helen

    2. Is there anyone on the list living in Llanelly? Ofcourse you may not want to admit to that. I was born there and so was my father. My father lived in Mount Pleasant Buildings, only one side of the street is left standing now, or was a few years back. I lived in Trimsaren, up the road. Anyway, I was born at an address that I can't read from the original birth certificate. I was wondering if I scanned it and sent it as an attachment(are attachments allowed?) maybe someone may regonise it. This only applies to those who live there ofcourse. 3. Hello List, I'm still trying to find my grandfather's family in Carmarthen. Would Carmarthen be found in the census or isn't that considered a parish? I got leads to several John Reeses, but they don't seem right. John and his wife whom I think was Ann Williams, had three children, John, Ann, and Morgan, who was my grandfather, born May 12, 1852. His sister Ann was born Dec. 20, 1845, and I don't know John's birthday. The father was born about 1823. All I remember my father saying is that they came from Carmarthen, I don't remember any other name. If they were from Carmarthen would they have married or had children christened in St. Peters Church? Thanks for any help you can give me. Ron Rees

    3. Hi Pauline Do not know if you can help but as my local knowledge of these places is very little, I have to make sure I find the correct John Howell and not jump to conclusions. From my original notes was scribbled the birth or bap of John Howell 13/11/1813 but location is Henllan Amgoed is this close to Llangan, also one of the witnesses to the marriage of John Howell was a Titus Howell (taking a guess it maybe a brother or cousin) and so may have been born in same place, on a search I did find a Titus Howell born Llandewy velfrey 1811, could this be a clue, is it in the same area? thanks for your help. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pauline James" <paulinejames@onvol.net> To: <CARMARTHENSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 18, 2006 1:32 PM Subject: Re: [Cmn-L] John Howell > Hi Dave > > Cannot see him baptised in the parish church between 1813-1875....... > > the only John Howell with father David was in 1832 > > Pauline > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Dave Howells" <d.jhowells@blueyonder.co.uk> > To: <CARMARTHENSHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Wednesday, January 18, 2006 1:39 PM > Subject: [Cmn-L] John Howell > > >> Hello List >> Can anyone help with finding out birth details of >> John Howell. >> I have his marriage details married 7th December 1837 in Llanboidy. >> he married Rachel Evan residence Llanboidy at date of >> marriage. >> John Howell residence at time of marriage was Penyback, >> his father was David Howell (either sailor or tailor). >> John Howell age at marriage was 24, though in the 1841 >> census it has his age as 25!! >> His birth 'maybe' have been 13.11.1813 in Llanboidy though this has >> not been confirmed. >> Any help much appreciated. >> >> >> ==== CARMARTHENSHIRE Mailing List ==== >> Wales Genealogy CD's for Wales research >> http://www.Wales-Genealogy.co.uk >> > > > ==== CARMARTHENSHIRE Mailing List ==== > Wales Genealogy CD's for Wales research > http://www.Wales-Genealogy.co.uk > > >
