(County) Mayo and County Sligo -- We researchers often drop the "CO" or "County" as We know the name but it is the actual name of the Counties in Ireland -- so the famine cause mass emigration and Some ended up in Mexico or Texas and into Mexico. Look to http://www.houstonculture.org/mexico/irish.html Secondly the St. Patrick's Division of Santa Anna's was well known for Bravery - so they ended up with grants or living in Mexico. I do wish Someone would track and list all the CARLON and CAROLANS in Mexico, but the simple answer to your Question was many Irish ended up in Mexico as they did in every other Country in the World !
