Could someone with this book please scan (if you can) pages 577-579? I read it about 30 years ago and wrote notes on paper towels (don't know why I didn't have paper). I think I got mixed up somewhere. Are there two WILLIAM VANCE CARLOCKS? My notes indicate that Jacob Carlock was born Darke Co. Ohio 1816, moved to Greene Co., Mo. 1835, then to Mississippi in 1840. His children were: 1. William Vance b.c. 1840 Missouri d. 1924 Old Soldier's Home, Austin, Tx. m. Elizabeth Tatum who d. 1898 in Miss. Children by an unkown first wife were: 1a. John C. Carlock b. April 8, 1853 Mississippi m. Nevery Jane sirrott (d. 1/3/1903 Goldwaithe, Tx) 1b. ________ (son) Raised in Mississippi 2. Jacob Carlock b. ? Missouri moved to Mississippi d. Missouri I HAVE I THINK A DIFFERENT WILLIAM VANCE CARLOCK verified with many census records (1840 in Stoddard Co., MO, 1850, 1860, 1870 in Wayne Co., MO) and deeds (1837, Stoddard Co. Land Patent and sale of same to John D. Carlock). William Vance Carlock b.c. 1802 or 1812, married c. 1830 to Frances ?, d. 1836-40 in Stoddard Co., Missouri. Children were: 1. Mary Jane Carlock b. January 26, 1831, Cape Girardeau Co (later Stoddard), MO d. 1908 probably Wayne Co., Missouri m. Franklin Wills 1856, Wayne Co., Missouri 2. William V. Carlock b. 1834 in MO 3. David V. Carlock b. 1837 in MO 4. Ransom/Francis Marion Carlock b. 1841, Schuyler Co., IL (while parents visiting their parents - which?) 5. Roda C. Carlock b. 1844, MO 6. Emmaline/Susanna Carlock? b. MO m. Starling Wills NOTE: My line has no Jacobs! Now back to my notes from the Carlock Book: My paper towels say Jacob Carlock d. 1847 in Darke Co., Ohio, and he was the father of Jacob Carlock above whose sons were William Vance and Jacob Carlock. I would assume his birth year to be around 1795. BUT my next note lists Jacob Carlock (son of Hanchrist) b. 1775 in Rockbridge (Smyth Co.) Va. He married ? Whitney and had the following children: 1. Leutita, b. 1800 2. Duke b. 1802 (in France) 3. John Landis b. 1805 4. Mary (Polly) b. 1807 5. James Madison, b. 1810 6. George Maklin, b. 1812 7. Sarah (Sally), b. 1814 8. JACOB b. 1816 9.
