I found my grgrgrgrandmother, Jane CARLOCK Smith on the 1880 census in the home of one of her sons in Resaca, Gordon County GA. She lists the birth place of her mother as KY. Her father was Isaac Carlock, son of Hancrist. According to the Carlock book, her mother was Sarah Ruckman. I am a little confused as to why Jane's mother is listed as being born in KY.
