I need to add that my William Vance Carlock (II)'s oldest son was DAVID V. (Vance?). There was a David Carlock who was christened in Shenandoah Co. (formerly Augusta) 1741. Though some say he was the same one that was from Germany, that one was born in 1674 and christened in 1679. I am assuming that WV II named his first son after his grandfather. But who was his father? Abraham? Moses? Frederick? Conrad? Katheryn Haddad
