I believe John D. Carlock was brother to my William Vance Carlock since Wm. sold his land in Stoddard Co., MO, to John D. Carlock. John D. is the proven son of David Carlock, Warren Co., KY. Because of this land transaction and the fact that my William Vance Carlock named a son David, I believe they were both sons of David Carlock. I may never be able to prove it. Thanks to L. A, Pg. 54-55] So this gave John D. Carlock a total of 180 Acres. There was a Tom Carlock in Cape Girardeau/Wayne/Butler Co., MO, who d. 1934, having been b. 1850. Was he John's son or grandson? In the 1920 Census of Poplar Bluff in Butler Co. was William Carlock with wife Mancie and dtr. Thelma; also in HH was Henry A. Moore, tho he may have been a border since he was labeled "head" as was Wm. 1850: Not in census of Stoddard Co., MO. Where did he go? Back to Kentucky? Over to Tennessee or Illinois?
