My William Vance Carlock (not the one in the book) was in Cape Girardeau Co., MO. at least by 1820. There was a large group of at least 65 wagons in a wagon train from Lincoln Co., NC that went to Cape Girardeau right about that time. My Wills & McGee families whom the Carlocks intermarried with were from there. I have checked the 1790 census of Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rutherford and Stokes Co., NC (Cabarrus didn't have one online) and have found no Carlocks in them, though I've read on your site several times they were there. What proofs do "we" have? Katheryn Katheryn
