The following query appeared today on the Fulton Co., Illinois, Queries site: Date: 5/1/2001 10:00:30 AM Eastern Daylight Time From: BootsTex@aol.com (Charles Watson) Source: GC- Fulton Co. Il Queries URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/Fulton/10362 Subject: CARLOCK/HUNTER Surname: CARLOCK, HUNTER, HURLEY, WASSON ------------------------- My great grandmother, Adorna Mariah CARLOCK (maiden name) was born in Astoria, Fulton County, Illinois in 1848. This information was obtained from her death record; she died in 1940 in New Mexico. She married Thomas Benton WASSON. In the 1850 U.S. census for Fulton County, there appears a widow named Adarny Mariah Carlock, but there is not a one or two year old female listed with her. I am trying to prove that these two are mother/daughter. I know from other records that the maiden name of the elder Adarny Mariah Carlock was HURLEY, and that her husband, James Madison CARLOCK died in 1849. I also know that about 2 years later she married James HUNTER. It seems obvious that there is a kinship here, based on the identical names and the fact that they were in Fulton County at the same time. Can anyone help me connect the two? I would be eternally grateful. Thank you.
