This is in response to the following query from Judie BEATY which appeared on the Mecklenburg County, NC, GenConnect Query Forum today. I, too, am a direct descendant of George CARLOCK/CEARLOCK and Rachel LANDERS. Although it appears that George was a direct descendant of David CARLOCK who appears on page 436 of the book "History of the Carlock Family", by Marion Pomeroy CARLOCK, 1929, to the best of my knowledge no-one has yet found proof of the exact connection. Some discussion of this matter can be found in the archives of the [email protected] list. See the following CEARLOCK Resources Page to access the above-mentioned archives, as well as other CEARLOCK resources: http://resources.rootsweb.com/surnames/c/e/CEARLOCK/. For further information about the descendants of this couple, see the report on my homepage titled "User Home Page Genealogy Report: Descendants of CARLOCK". An in-progress report of the descendants of David's father Hans GERLACH can also be found on my home page under the report title "User Home Page Genealogy Report: Descendants of Hans GERLACH/GARLOCK/CARLOCK.
