    3. I have received a number of e-mails inquiring about the various books which have been written about the CARLOCK family. A search of the LDS Family History Library Catalog through the following site brings up the following list of books containing information about the CARLOCK family: http://www.familysearch.org/ENG/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp For further information about these books, please consult the above-mentioned site. I own a copy of Marion Pomeroy CARLOCK's book. I have not yet seen copies of the other books that are listed. Please inform the list if you know of other books containing information about the CARLOCK family or if you know of any other libraries besides the LDS libraries which contain copies of any of the following books. (See the archives of this list for a list of libraries containing copies of Marion Pomeroy CARLOCK's book.) I would also encourage subscribers who have seen any of these books to submit reports to this list with regard to what type of CARLOCK information can be found in the books. Please include page numbers if you have that information. 1. "The Buckner Book". Buckner, Carl Richard, 1930-. 2. "Cameron: family history". Womack, Hattie, b. 1876. 3. "Carlock family Bible records, 1777-1927". -- "Copied from a Bible owned by Mr. C. K. Carlock, Gallatin, Tennessee, 1936. Job Carlock (1777-1855) and his first wife, Sarah McDonald, had eight children, 1799-1814. He and his second wife, Elizabeth Johnson (b. 1794), had ten children, 1818-1832. Their son, Job Guthrie Carlock (1823-1865, and his wife, Mary Elizabeth (d. 1927), had at least three children, 1844-1852." -- 15 leaves 4. "Carlock, Illinois, area cemetery inscriptions including mini-genealogies of the families of Denman and Carlock". Lewis, Richard. 5. "Caulk genealogy: a history and story of the Caulk families in America". Caulk, Gerald (Edwin Gerald), b. 1918. 6. "Cearlock, Carlock, Curlock, Lane, Odom and Summy family histories". Lynch, Marilyn Ward (Marilyn Delores Ward), 1938-. -- "Includes information on the William Lane family (ca. 1726-1850) of Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama; and the Solomon Summy family (ca. 1732-1851) of North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Family history and genealogical information on the descendants of Luther Carol Cearlock (born 1842 in Kentucky). This family lived primarily in Texas and Oklahoma." -- 30 leaves [If anyone has a copy of this book, I would be very much interested in a photocopy of the contents of the book.] 7. "The descendants of Eklano Simmons and Nancy Jane Pierce Simmons". Simmons, Paul V., 1909-. 8. "Genealogy of the families Young, Bigelow, Alklen, Pierce, Carlock, Warren, Converse and many related families; summary". Young, Paul A. (Paul Allen), b. 1898. 9. "History of the Carlock family and adventures of pioneer Americans; including the Kimbrough, Goodpasture, Hoyl, Fite, Fancher, Lee, Wells, Judy, Tracy, Settles, Gaddis, Rowell, Moore, Cornelison, Harrold, Brown and other connecting families; profusely illustrated with charts, maps, drawings, rare old daguerreotypes and many present-day photographs". Carlock, Marion Pomeroy, b. 1880. -- This book is not indexed, but I have entered much of it into my database and may be able to give you some page numbers if you send me an e-mail with information about the individuals for which you are searching. This book, published in 1929, includes information about the following CARLOCKs, believed to be brothers, who migrated to America, and their descendants: 1. Johann Christian CARLOCK, b. 1669, Palatinate, Germany (pp. 418 - 422); 2. Coenraad GERLACH (Conrad CARLOCK), b. 1660, France or Germany (pp. 422 - 435); and 3. David CARLOCK, b. ca. 1679, Palatinate, Germany (pp. 436 -! 631). The book also contains numerous other records for CARLOCK and related spellings, including some census records. A chapter titled "History of the Carlock Family", appearing on pages 27 - 34, is especially informative. A section titled "Address Index of Carlock and Carlock Relatives Now Living", appearing on pages 639 - 654, could be useful in locating individuals on the 1930 United States census. -- 654 pages 10. "History of the McDonald, Thomasson, Biggers, Grimes and related families". Jeter, Margaret McDonald (Margaret Ann McDonald), 1926-. 11. "Jacob C. Carlock, founder of Webster, and other early settlers there". Burns, Norman, 1905-. 12. "Jacob C. Carlock, founder of Webster; early settler in Wayne Twp., Darke County, Ohio". Burns, Norman, 1905-. -- "Jacob C. Carlock was born in Smyth County, Virginia in 1775. He was the son of Hanchrist Carlock and the grandson of David Carlock. About 1801-03, Jacob moved to Owen County, Kentucky, south of Cincinnati. In 1814, he purchased Federal land in whit is now Wayne Township, Darke County, where Webster is now located. He laid out the village of Webster in 1835. He had nine children by his first wife, _____ Whitney. Most of their children married in Darke County and then moved to Illinois and Missouri. Jacob C. Carlock died in 1847. He and his second wife, mary Whitman Carlock, are buried in the Hoover Cemetery." 13. "John Lightfoot of Brunswick Co., Virginia; and some of his descendants". The Jackson book is supposed to have information re one NITA JEWLEL HARRIS, "A direct lineal descendent of ALCY CARLOCK and ANDREW DAWSON JACKSON." I am searching for anyone who may have any information re: NITA JEWEL. STOKELY HARRIS I found one such person who died in July 30, 1985 in TX, Services by Alamo Funeral Home in San Antonio, TX, burial in Shiner Cemetery, Shiner, TX. No next of kin listed.
