Supposedly was of Indian possibly French decent. I have two pictures each with a different name, Evans and Whittington. She had a daughter named Martha Jane Mitchell and I do not know where the Mitchell comes in. Martha Jane married supposedly a Carlock, no first name and they had a child Charles Monroe Carlock bor in Winnfield, LA 1881. Husband Carlock supposedly died and Martha Jane married again, John Bruce and they had a daughter named Nettie Bruce. Husband Bruce died or something and Martha Jane married again. Third husband is William Mason and she had several more children. I assume all of this is around Mississippi and Louisiana since the son of Charles Carlock, my grandfather was born in Bouge Chitta MS.
