Hello Evelyn, Wish we had some of those after-noon showers. Your question on the paper trail. Every time I think its becomeing slimmer,I always find another. I 've always felt David and Alexander (1830 SC census) were relatives, they were on the same census page in Char. and all went to MS together. (David, Jehu, Alexander, Thomas and Henry.) In going back over my notes, I realized David said his father was foreign born (and surely Scotch-Irish). I checked the census records for Mary-1820Char.cen. At that time she -1820- she would only have David at home, but she had 9 people in her household. I tried James Carlile Sr and his family and they fit perfectly. James and family wife another Mary,James Jr., John, Alexander, daughter Mary and Thomas and Henry/twins. James Sr. arrived in Charleston in 1818. Did not appear on the 1820 census in name,. but appeared on the 1830 Fairfield census with the twins and Mary. I believe James and family were living with Mary and David prior to going to Fairfield Co. Any questions?
