    3. Sorry, we're Brits. But there's usually some truth to family stories if you keep digging. My friend's family had a story about being French, also, although their name sounds very much English. Turns out, their immigrant ancestor did come from England. But his son, once over here, married a French woman. So there was French down that line, just not that particular surname.
