Hi, I'm descended from George Edward Carlyle, born abt. 1824 in Edinborough Scotland. He emigrated to Ohio around 1849 and spent many years there (mostly in Jefferson Co.) as an owner of a successful brick works. However, he disappears from Jeff. around 1890 and I have no idea where he went, nor where he died. One son, George, went to various towns eventually settling in Ironton, OH. Another son, James, (my great grandfather) ended up in Albion IL. If anyone has run across any George's who might fit, please let me know. Also, if there are any Carlyle researchers based in Edinborough who might know about George's family there, I'd appreciate hearing from them. Thanks, Karen Carlyle
