    3. Hi Listers, Regarding the information on the Moravian Records from the West Indies - FHL INTL Film 1162485 Item 5. There is bad news and good news! Bad news - I made no notes on the film. Good news - I made hard copies of the 13 pages! Too much detail to provide to the List especially the day after a long weekend here in Canada. Vernon H. NELSON, Archivist, made an illustrated lecture on "Records From The West Indies" on 23 Nov 1968 and this must have been his handout. Additional info appears to be added in Feb 1969 as he notes to "The Archives of the Moravian Church, Bethlehem" and "something wrong with duplicating method". There were 38 slides mainly taken by the author with additional ones by Robert T. BROWN, Treasurer of the Archives and not included. He and his wife Jane left for the Islands 27 Dec 1965 to take inventory for 3 weeks. They visited St. Thomas, St. Croix, Antigua, and Barbados finding records in various states of condition. Bottom line is - by Jan 1968, they retrieved 69 cartons in 8 shipments of materials from Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Croix and St. Thomas. Barbados records left at the Lazaretto Building, Black Rock, St. Michael with agreement to receive microfilm copy. Unsure how they obtained St. Kitts. Unsure of his maths as he has total weight 749 KG, or somewhat less than a ton! He says :- "The chronological scope of the records is great; it starts about 1730 and continues almost to the present (1968). Some series of the records have long gaps; others are relatively complete." Additional information can be provided if of interest. Jim C.

    3. I am delighted to be back with my friends from Caribbean-L rootsweb.com as I was turned off after we moved to tesco.net. We are going out to Anguilla this Friday so if anyone has any messages to give to anyone out there who hasn;t got the Internet bug, this is your opportunity. Does anyone out there have any knowledge of a Jewish community /synagogue of any kind, in Anguilla or St Maartens please?
