Hi Listers, Further to the topic on the search for the Moravian Records for the West Indies. When I first started looking in the LDS Family Search Centre for Saint Vincent, the following item was discovered. It explains how the records were collected, packed and shipped from each of the Islands to Bethlehem, PA, USA. I have misplaced my notes but remember it explained what happened to the records and well documented. Title Records from the West Indies Stmnt.Resp. an illustrated lecture presented by Vernon H. Nelson Authors Nelson, Vernon H (Main Author) Notes Microfilm of typescript. "[presented]...on Friday, November 23, 1968, at the Christian Education Building, Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, U.S.A." Bibliography: p. 10. Hi James, Thanks very much for this. It is the kind of material that I would very much prefer to read before even thinking of contacting the Archivist about transcribing the documents. Can you say if you have any hopes of finding your notes on the Lecture by Vernon H. Nelson on Records from the West Indies, given at Bethlehem, Penn. in 1968? Alternatively, can you see if the micro-film by some slip of luck might not still be at the Bramton LDS? As you know we have to wait 5-8 weeks to receive film from Utah. The other and faster way may have been to get a photocopy from the archives, but since they do not do photo-copies this is not an alternative. However, there is one other possibility, that the Lecture may have been published in a Journal of some kind, Moravian or Archival. So I think I will write Bethlehem, Penn about that. But let me know first about the two other alternatives mentioned above that you might be able to help out with.
