In 1999 I created a "free" webpage at http.maxpages.com/jamaicanfamily (I have purposely omitted the // so that no one uses this is a link). I am now warning you NOT to try going to that website. Here is the reason why. The way that maxpages finances the "free" websites is to load them with ads and popups. Some months ago they gave website holders the option to pay an annual fee so as to have the ads removed. For some reason the popup ads remained, despite payment. On Thursday, April 24, I went to the website to make a periodic check of messages in the Guest Book. I was barraged by popup ads. Several messages in the Guest Book complained of the same problem. It took me two days to delete my website, the popups were so bad that they were locking up my computer. As of now I HAVE DELETED THE WEBSITE. There is no longer any Jamaican genealogy information there. I apologize for the inconvenience. I have now been informed by Heather Figueroa that if you try to go to that website you will be automatically forwarded to some other site, and your browser will be subject to attack. Heather is going to write a message explaining the process. The bottom line is DO NOT GO TO MAXPAGES.COM/JAMAICANFAMILY. Sorry for the capital letters, but I do not want anyone to be exposed to this problem. The information that was on the site I erased can also be found in the free pages at http://jamaicanfamilysearch.com, where there are no ads and no popups.
