Dear Jim, Thanks for the response. I am a descendant of all of the French settler families of Saint-Barthelemy; that is the families LaPlace, (my mother's direct family), Greaux, Bernier, Brin, and Questel, as well as others. My interest is in a sojourn that some of the families from the Windward Side of St-Barths took to St.Vincent in about 1750 to 1770. These Windward folks, including some LaPlaces, came back from St.Vincent with a new language - Guadeloupe Creole, as well as slaves that they may not have had before.
