Hi Listers, I am trying desperately to find information on the name DuBois in USVI. My husband's great grandfather, Captain William Hansen married a Catherine(Kathryn) Dubois. They lived in St Thomas, where William was Colonial Aide to the Governor and later Manager of the Military Hospital, in Charlotte Amalie. He came originally from Copenhagen. Their firstborn,Hans William, was born in St Thomas in 1833. William remarried in 1847, so I am presuming that Catherine DuBois died sometime prior to that year.
