I was on the phone today promoting St. Croix as a weekly stopover for Universal Airlines. We have cheap jet fuel. We have a jewllery industry there that could further process Guyana gold, diamonds and precious stones. There are also efforts to develop woodworking. There is a only a small local Virgin Islands food market which could utilize crops from Guyana. The Guyana Telephone Service already belongs to a USVI corporation. In the history books it says that in the 1920s a few Cruzans moved to Guyana though I am not aware of specific examples.
